life

The day you died
They say I snapped
I was no longer the person I was
I was lost without you
You were gone
Never to be seen again
I couldn't pick up the phone and call you
I couldn't drop by and see you
I don't even have a grave to go and visit
Your ashes spread in Hawaii
I was naive and let him have them all
You were grey and swollen
Tubes coming out everywhere
I had to let you go
You would have wanted that
I wouldn't want to live like that
I wouldn't let you live like that
You were on life support
No one knew if you were going to live or die
Most doctors said you were going to die
You were only living because you were on life support
It was time to let you go
I asked you,
You blinked
I did what you wanted
We let you go
I hope you are happy
I hope I did the right thing
